     An academician and administrator with long years of experience, Dr. Kakati has about 30 years of teaching, academic administration, and research experience and completed his post-graduate degree at Gauhati University and Ph.D. at North Bengal University. Dr. Kakati served as a Lecturer in History at North Kamrup College, Baghmara, served as an Associate Professor at Bajali College, Pathsala, as the Principal at Rangia College, as the Academic Registrar at Gauhati University, as the Principal at Pandu College, Guwahati. He served as the Honourable Governor’s Nominee to the Executive Council, at Bhattadev University. He is of experiences to hold various positions like NAAC’s Peer Team Member; Member, of the District Scrutiny Committee for College Provincialization, Govt. of Assam; Member of the High-Level Committee for NEP Implementation, Govt. of Assam; Member, of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council; Resource Person in Human Resource Development Centre, Gauhati University. He also chaired the technical session of ICSSR sponsored National Seminar at Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University and ICHR sponsored National Symposium at Gautam Buddha University. Uttar Pradesh. He has published 1 book; 2 edited books in addition to a number of research papers in UGC Care listed and peerreviewed journals. He is a Ph.D. research Guide at the Department of Folklore Research, Gauhati University.
