Admission Guidelines

General Guidelines for Admission

• Candidates are required to read the prospectus carefully before filling up the application form
• The applicant desiring to apply in more than one course shall submit his/her preference in the same application form.
• The candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but whose results have not been declared may also apply for admission. However, they need to submit their results before admission. If the result of the candidate is not declared at the time of admission, his/her admission will remain provisional up to three months of admission.

Procedures for Admission

• Candidates seeking admission to Pragjyotishpur University for the Academic Session 2025-26 can check this page for the links to the latest prospectus and the online application form, which will be up from Monday, 28 April 2025,onwards.
• No fee is required to apply for the courses in the University

Submission of Application form

• Filled-up online application forms can be submitted through both online and offline
• Online Submission Requirements:
  • Recent passport size-coloured photographs
  • Signature
  • Application forms should be filled in, incomplete application forms will not be accepted
• Offline Submission Requirements:
  • Three recent (passport sizes) coloured photographs should be affixed on the application form. Photographs should be pasted with gum and should not be stapled or pinned
  • Candidates are required to fill the application form with his/her own handwriting
  • Application forms should be filled in and duly signed by the applicants. Incomplete application forms will not be accepted.

Selection Procedure

Admission will be conducted on the merit basis (percentage secured in the last qualifying examination). The admission date will be notified in the official website of the Pragjyotishpur University

Documents Required at the time of Admission

• Copy of any one of ID proofs such as, Aadhaar/ Voter/ PAN Cards or photo-carrying front page of passbook of Post Office/any scheduled bank
• Copy of the SC/ ST(H/P)/ OBC/ EWS Certificate for concerned applicants
• Copy of the Admit Cards of H.S.L.C. and H.S
• Copy of the grade sheets/marksheets of H.S.L.C. and H.S.
• Copy of the Pass Certificates for H.S.L.C. and H.S. (Provisional Certificate if the Pass Certificate is unavailable at the time of admission)
• Copy of the Character Certificate issued by competent authority of last institution where applicant has studied
• Copy of the Migration Certificate (when issued, if unavailable at the time of admission) issued by last board/university under/in which applicant has studied
• Copy of the Gap Certificate, if any
• Proof of permanent address
• Certificate of the Extra Curricular activities such as performance in sports, culture and NCC/NSS, etc.
• It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure his/her eligibility before applying for admission to a particular programme. No claim of any shortage in this matter shall be entertained
• Applicants are advised to read all the instructions given in the prospectus carefully before filling up the application form
• All original copies of documents are to be furnished for the verification at the time of admission

Rules for Fees and Accounts

• Fees shall be accepted in the form of Cash/card/online payments in the Accounts Section of the Pragjyotishpur University
• Fees for students’ activities will be decided later on by the respective authorities

Bank Account Details

After the online payment of fee, candidates should mail the pay slip including the transaction ID.

Merit Scholarship

• Exceptionally meritorious students will get free education
• Scholarship will be provided to the meritorious students from financially disadvantaged background.

Sports Scholarship

Financial Assistance will be given to the deserving candidates.
